I work for Tribune and my corporate housing is up in May.I've been looking around and realized that having a roomie would be a better option for me as I can get a lot more if I just split a place with someone.

I'm a pretty boring guy that works a lot, hardly ever home, doesn't smoke, do drugs, and only drinks every other Friday night at bars, clubs, etc.Feel free to 'Google me' to learn more search for Brent D. Payne and you should be able to get a better feel for who I am.Call me at the number you'll find when you Google me (the 509 number) or reply via email to this post.

If I do the room mate option, I'd prefer to stay around $1,000 per person a month but would be flexible if the place was really nice as long as it didn't go over $1,500 per person. There are a lot of rentals available out there right now but most of them are too much for me to get on my own.

I have cash to put down but my credit is poor.I have a 4 year old son I get very infrequently 2 weeks in May, 4 weeks this summer, etc. When he is with me he can just sleep in my room. He's a good kid and he and I are usually out doing something anyway.

I want to stay close to downtown.Currently I walk to Tribune Tower and I'd prefer to keep it that way, but would be flexible to taking a bus or short train ride for the right type of place.

Lastly, I have a lot of furniture that is still in storage in Washington State.I can either move it out here or just leave it in storage; I have no preference. What do I have?Lots of electronics (70" TV, Definitive Technology speakers, etc.), nice dining room set, new couches, some good quality bedroom furniture, etc.I'm just not sure if it's worth moving it all out here for a small apartment downtown.;-)

Note: I have had some bad experiences with CraigsList.org.Specifically women looking to pay for rent in 'unique ways'.So, I'd be open to female room mates but not THOSE types. ;-)
