FIPPEX has a unique opportunity for a CTO who is interested in getting in on the ground floor of an exciting new social media platform. The CTO must have in depth understanding of technology and the economics of technology. The CTO will be a key member of the strategic management team and will be responsible for aligning the strategic direction of the company with the creation of an in-house development team that will build and enhance the FIPPEX internet platform.
Responsibilities:
•Define, establish and execute the technical vision and IT strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships
•Evaluate, architect and design unique and innovation technical solutions on a highly scalable content delivery platform
•Manage the outsourced development vendor and develop strategy to bring development in-house
•Hire, manage and develop first class technical staff
•Manage the hosting provider
•Establish technical standards and processes and ensure adherence to them for software development and operations
•Responsible for delivering an architecture that is scalable and reliable
•Responsible for all phases of software development from requirement definition to development to testing and delivery
•Oversee deliverables, schedules and releases
•Contribute to the development of business plans, identify areas of concern and modify technical programs appropriately
•Identify future trends in Internet technology from a client and platform perspective
•Provide visible leadership in the technical community.
•Work with the management team to define, prioritize and execute the technical roadmap to support the business model
•Work closely with the technical teams of key partners to ensure optimal integration strategies
•Able to define and execute to a budget, forecast the ROI and track results of the technical activities
Qualifications:
•7+ years of similar experience at an internet company and significant experience managing a technical team
•Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline required. Masters degree preferred
•Strong technical vision, presentation and technology leadership skills
•Excellent experience of Internet architectures and high volume transactions
•Expert understanding of new Internet technology and social networking behaviors
•Ability to lead code reviews and technical design meetings
•Demonstrable problem solving skills
•Able to thrive in a fast-changing, dynamic startup environment
•Demonstrates a strong strategic business focus
•Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment
•Success in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
