POSITION: Director of Research
Chicago, Illinois (Corporate Headquarters)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for managing the firm’s research efforts and helping direct Diamond’s knowledge development priorities
The Director of Research will oversee the development of various high-quality thought pieces in support of the firm’s business objectives.The ideal candidate is a results oriented self-starter with experience handling the full lifecycle of research – from the inception of ideas all the way through to their integration in a business context.Each research piece will support Diamond’s message and brand in the marketplace.
Reporting to Diamond’s Vice Chairman and Global Managing Director of Innovation and Research, the Director of Research will be responsible for hiring a team of 4-5 staffresearchers each of whom will lead smaller thought initiatives.The Director will oversee the researchers’ work efforts and will fully own all aspects of the firm’s research priorities.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•A demonstrated ability to manage research; 7-10 years of experience in eithera consulting/professional services environment or in an academic environment
•Strong project management experience with a track record of collaboration
•Exemplary communications skills, written and oral, and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues, senior partners within the firm, team members, etc.
•Ability to rapidly adjust to the changing needs of a dynamic environment.
•Experience supervising a team of researchers.
•Problem-solving skills
•Commitment and reliability
•The ability to assist with overflow, special projects, and day-to-day tasks.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
•The ability to work with minimal supervision.
SALARY
•Commensurate with experience
