You absolutely must be able to know how to think through issuesabout separation of content and presentation, web accessibility, good codethat validates, semantic HTML, etc. You have to be able to put all of these elements together with elegantly defined and organized CSS (and tables where necessary). You have to pull those pieces together to thrill and excite the people who touch our products or the products we produce for our clients. Is this you? Responsibilities: You will participate in all phases of front-end development – requirements gathering, UI design, implementation for production, and ongoing maintenance – of the client-side code for web sitesand web applications. You will be working as an interactive visual designer and web developer to design and build solutions for web based software. You will have complete ownership of front-end code –meaning you will be responsible for keeping the code to industry standards andadvocating best practices within the team. ·Work with the product team to design interfaces for web applications ·Create prototypes appropriate for a given stage in development ·Coordinate with server-side engineers to design and develop new functionality ·Architect, develop, and maintain production-quality code Requirements: ·Experience developing web sites and web applications ·Solid web design skills visible through portfolio pieces ·XHTML: must be able to hand-code valid, semantic and accessible markup ·CSS:must be able to create clean mostly table-less layouts using only CSS ·JavaScript: must be able to validate a form, manipulate CSS via the DOM, ETC. ·Photoshop, Fireworks: Ability to manipulate and optimize graphics ·Understanding of Web Accessibility and Standards Compliance ·Solid cross-platform and cross-browser development experience Sure would be nice to have: ·Expertise in platform idiosyncrasies and degrading functionality and presentation gracefully ·Experience working within a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team ·Experience with bringing a web site or application to market ·Experience working with Moodle or other open source platforms ·Experience working with Flash and Actionscript 3 ·Some experience working with server-side code – preferably PHP, Ruby, MySQL, .Net ·Some interface design skills & creativity would be great also
