The quality of the Personal Academic Tutoring service we offer our members is dependent on the quality of the Instructors we hire. SCORE! is a great place where our student members work closely with our Instructors to improve their math, reading, writing and other academic skills. As an Instructor, you will spend a lot of time with every child that you tutor. How you teach, the way you interact with the children and who you are to them will affect their lives forever. You are their tutor and their role model. Think of one of your favorite instructors growing up... that's who you'll be to them.
Job Description:
Tutor and motivate children ages 5 -18 years old on our curriculum in a 3:1 and 6:1 ratio
Support center by providing outstanding service to current members
Help create a positive, supportive environment
Interact with parents and discuss their children’s progress
Prepare and manage each child’s learning plans
Administer and score assessments
Training and administrative tasks as necessary
Maintain individual student progress records
Qualifications:
Previous experience tutoring children required
Connects easily with children to explain concepts, motivate and help them follow directions
Comfortable communicating each day with children, parents and staff
Outgoing, enthusiastic and responsible
Excellent oral communication skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred, required for some positions
Teaching certificate preferred
College minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week (10+ hours preferred)
Weekday afternoons or evenings and weekend availability
Excellent overall role model
