Senior Financial Analyst

A top 10 global financial services firm has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst for its office in the western suburbs. This company offers an excellent work/life balance and a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. There is also a tremendous potential to move up within the organization. 

Primary responsibilities include the following:

-Review and analyze hedge accounting results under both US GAAP and IFRS to support the monthly /
quarterly accounting close and reporting process.
-Design complex worksheets and/or databases for tracking and reporting.
-Prepare reports, graphs and charts of data developed; prepare written presentations of financial
analyses.Recommend actions to be taken, as appropriate.
-Interact and communicate with various business units throughout the company in analyzing the
derivatives accounting results.
-Assist in special research projects into finance-related issues and/or opportunities.
-Collect and verify accuracy of information used for financial analyses through internal and external
reports, other department personnel and published data.
-Prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts, as needed.
-Provide financial and technical expertise on projects requiring moderately complex financial analysis.
-Analyze accounting practices of the Company and its competitors to develop an information base for
future managerial action and to improve workflow procedures to increase efficiencies and improve the
reporting process.
-Assist in analysis and interpretation of financial statements and related reports.
-Interact with internal and external auditors as well as senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-3-4 years proven accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred.
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA designation.
-Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation and verbal and written communication
skills.
-Ability to identify, recommend, and implement process improvement ideas.
-Proficiency with personal computers and a high degree of expertise with Excel and Access.
