Software Designer/Lead Business Analyst

If you’re currently a Business Analyst, you’re already familiar with a lot of the activities involved in this position: requirements gathering and documentation; writing functional specs and use cases; managing scope, budget, and client expectations. But the real key to our Business Analyst position is “solutions design”. It is coming up with that big idea of how to solve our client’s problem. It’s listening to what a client thinks they want, and then going one step further to suggest an alternative solution that will meet those needs and more, and in a more efficient and elegant way.

At MarketSense, we develop custom tiered Web applications for our clients. The Business Analyst is the primary designer of the systems from the business standpoint—an “idea generator”. You’ll work directly with clients to understand where their problem areas are and to recommend intuitive, creative solutions to those problems. You’ll design software solutions to meet their needs and work with the technical architecture and programming team to develop those systems.

As the Lead Business Analyst, you’ll also act as a sounding board to the rest of the Business Analysis team. You’ll make sure their projects are on track and are accomplishing the clients’ goals appropriately. You’ll help to create best practices to ensure that we’re providing a high-quality service to our clients.

You should be comfortable with the entire business analysis process and should have at least 6 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or similar position, with an emphasis on creative solution development. You should have experience in user interface design, analyzing and modeling user workflow, and incorporating that information into application design. A general knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of web-based application development is very helpful. A Bachelor's degree is required.

MarketSense is an established marketing and software development firm that has been growing rapidly for the past 4 years. You’ll be joining a team of extremely talented, hard-working, smart, and intuitive individuals in a collaborative environment. We offer opportunity for growth, a fun work environment, and a competitive salary and benefits package, including health club and tuition reimbursement, medical insurance, matching 401(k), and summer hours. Learn more about us at www.market-sense.com.
