Small fast-growing Web development firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced IT professional to administrate technology throughout the organization.
Responsibilities include designing, installing, deploying, and maintaining IP services in UNIX and Windows environments and responding to system and network events. Must be comfortable working independently and juggling multiple tasks.You will be responsible for the management of internal and co-located servers along with office networks, including PC and MAC.
Primary Experience:

- Sendmail and postfix
- Zope, Python
- DNS administration
- GNU tools
- Shell scripting
- UNIX system programming and automation
You will be responsible for all aspects of server administration, including security, system and software installation, upgrading, monitoring, and network debugging.Experience in each of these areas is preferred.
Duties also include maintenance of our office computers.This involves the following skills:
- Firewall and NAT configuration and maintenance
- Windows, Mac, and Linux(Red Hat, Ubuntu) workstations
- NFS
- Backups
The ability to write and communicate clearly is of primary importance. You will be responsible for assisting staff with computer-related issues, establishing company-wide IT standards, and providing concise documentation.

- Perl
- PHP
- OpenLDAP/AD/Kerberos
- FreeBSD
The ideal candidate will have worked in an ISP environment with administrative responsibilities spanning Unix and Microsoft servers.
